Experience / Skills
Total IT Experience 5 - 8 Years
Specific skills on Linux, Hadoop IOT Analytical platform (Predix), Greenplum and Pivotal.

Must Have:

Having more than 5+ years of experience on Linux Admin, Hadoop, IOT Based Analytical platform.
Good experience on managing pivotal, Hortonworks and Cloudera Hadoop distribution clusters.
Handle Incident, Problem and Changes with Application and Infrastructure support team for Data store in Clusters.
Able to handle Hadoop cluster day to day operations, commissioning and decommissioning resources, adding up new services, user related issue like jobs issues, connectivity, permissions, service upgrades, config changes etc.
Exposure with Unix OS in terms of managing server to implement Hadoop changes.
Managing and supporting Greenplum , Creating Databases, users, schemas and tables on Greenplum clusters based on user request.
Creating Project space for users on Hadoop cluster environment (Sandbox/Development/Production).
Monitoring Server statistics using monitoring tools (check_mk) and various scripts.
Troubleshooting Linux, HDFS & Greenplum Cluster related issues which consist of level1 & level2 severity.
Deploying applications on Linux servers for Greenplum & Hadoop Clusters.

Below is the key JD for GP administration:

Administration of multiple instances of GP with multi-terabytes of data.
Accountable for regular Greenplum administration activities such as back up, performance tuning, db vacuum analyze, migrations, partitioning, access control, resource queue management, table bloat fixing, query optimization, load management etc.
Ensuring best practices in Greenplum in terms of automation, backup, monitoring, tuning and change management.
Improving system usability, performance, and functionality. Coordinating and contributing to the problem determination and resolution process for database related issues
Experience in UNIX shell scripting.
Automating manual tasks using shell scripts for administration activities.
Migrating/Restoring user’s data from Development to Production on Greenplum Clusters.
Working closely with Vendor and user to fix any high priority issues on these Clusters.
Manage configuration changes, Administration and troubleshooting issue which are escalated from L1 team
Develop centralized & automatic method that triggers when servers are required to be refreshed, initiate the process, and provide weekly & monthly status reports.
User provisioning / access , Handling Space/quota issues, DB Creation
Enforce and execute polices & procedures
Change requests for Servers and Tools.

Good to Have:

Storage knowledge (DAS, NAS, SAN).
Exposure with tools such Nagios, Check MK, Support Central, Service Now, and other tools for service delivery.
