The Business Analyst identifies and understands business issues and
processes. The role defines and documents customer needs to produce
functional requirements and provide functional subject matter expertise for
development and customer facing teams. The Business Analyst provides
comprehensive test cases and oversees thorough testing compliant with
business processes.
The Business Analyst validates and improves customer requirements by
verifying adherence to required functionality in delivered solutions,
conducting user acceptance testing, managing customer change requests and
providing the customer with ways to improve their processes by effectively
using applications.
Key Responsibilities
Represent in internal and external groups from presales to
post sales and customer acceptance testing;
Analyze and document customer requirements and business
Perform functional gap analysis with respect to standard
product offerings at pre and post sales;
Provide insight to regional management on ability and
timeframes for delivery against identified product gaps;
Prepare specifications for Development to provide accurate
statements of work on Bid win or for change requests;
Liaise with development teams to determine effort,
feasibility, scheduling, etc. Provide input to bid team for presales
activities (e.g. customer proposals generation, risk analysis, pricing,
customer presentations, site surveys, work break down structures etc.);
Assist in the management of customer’s technical
Confirm and negotiate functional specifications upon
activation of a project;
Define and agree with delivery and client a testing regime
that defines exit criteria for user acceptance testing;
Define ways the customer can improve their business/
operational process and how applications can assist;
Provide customer sponsorship of development project by
ensuring customer requirements are delivered as per their specification
with respect to being involved in the development process;
Coordinate securing of test data from client for development
testing and user acceptance testing;
Manage scope creep via agreed change request process;
Provide technical hands-on expertise where needed;
Continuously refresh knowledge of products. Analyze, assess,
develop, devise, plan, negotiate and present modern implementations for
client sites;
Provide guidance for solution designers to scope site
Ensure highest level of quality is achieved within
assignments at all times;
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or related field or equivalent work experience required.
1-year experience in business analysis including experience
of building user cases.
Consumer web site expertise in indentifying business flows
Travel industry eCommerce knowledge a plus
Experience of integrating with third party applications such
as payment gateways, web services applications delivering content/products
(such as hotels, rail and cruise packages) is preferred.
GUI specification and wire frame development knowledge helpful
